Willows – Surrey Apartment

Location:

Surrey

Brief:

After being rented out for 10 years, this lovely character apartment was in need of a cost effective update. We decided to spend the biggest chunk of the budget on a hall coat rack and bespoke wood panelling, which was designed to fit the scale and varying ceiling heights in the long and winding corridor, providing character and matching the “upmarket” feel of the rest of the apartment. The carpets were ripped out and replaced with a cost effective laminate wood floor, much more stylish and practical for a rental property! We really enjoyed re-purposing the existing furniture, painting and renovating where necessary, getting the main sofa recovered in a robust but beautiful green velvet, and supplying a stylish new headboard for the guest bed all kept the spend on furnishings to a minimum. Clever use of on-trend accent colours, some online hunting for artwork and one, exhausting trip to Ikea, kept the overall cost low and ensured the apartment was snapped up and for a much higher rent when it went back on the market!
