THE IMPORTANCE OF LIGHTING IN INTERIOR DESIGN
Creative and innovative interior lighting has the potential to bring almost any interior space to light. Just as poorly selected and positioned lighting can compromise both the comfort and the practicality of an otherwise wonderful room. The importance of strategic interior lighting design therefore cannot be overstated.
At David Hales Design Studio, we place heavy emphasis on the importance of selecting and installing the right lights for the right spaces. Our interior lighting specialists will help you explore the various lighting options available, ensuring you choose the most appropriate lights to suit your wider interior design vision.

Types of Interior Lighting
THE IMPORTANCE OF LIGHTING IN INTERIOR DESIGN
At David Hales Design Studio, we believe that the key to successful interior lighting design and installation lies in creativity. Strategic and thoughtful ambient lighting can enhance the appeal and atmosphere of any interior space. Contrary to popular belief, ambient lighting isn’t exclusively about intensity. It’s predominantly about the positioning of the lighting fixtures around the space, along with the type, colour and strength of light emitted from each source.
From classical homes to contemporary commercial spaces, we know what it takes to enhance interiors with beautiful ambient lighting. Whatever the size, nature and purpose of the room, we’ll help you explore your property’s untapped potential and show you the possibilities.
ACCENT LIGHTING
One of the most common interior design mistakes we encounter is attempting to illuminate every inch of interior space to the same level. When in fact, the key to successful interior light design and installation lies in atmospheric accent lighting. Accent lighting can be used in any location across any interior space to bring different levels of luminosity to specific features and fixtures.
Bespoke accent lighting can be great for directing attention at your proudest decorations, ornaments, artworks or furnishings. It can also be used simply to bring an interior space to life by varying the positioning and luminosity of lighting sources around the room. With our tailored accent lighting designs to suit all interior spaces, the possibilities are literally endless.
TASK LIGHTING
It’s natural to assume that as task lighting performs a predominantly practical function, it has limited aesthetic value. In reality, creative task lighting can make a significant contribution to the design dynamic of a much wider interior space. At David Hales Design Studio, we specialise in the design and installation of practical and presentable task lighting systems for all purposes.
Whether looking to install a single task light or improve the practicality of an entire property, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Book your initial design consultation with a member of the team at David Hales Design Studio today for more information.
